Great fun designing my own version of the characters and their adventures of this witty story The Fantastic Mr. Fox written by my favourite children’s book writer: Roald Dahl.
Finding my own interpretation of the brilliant characters and designing their look and expressions became a journey of growth as a storytelling illustrator.
I enjoyed every step exploring this personal challenge, and I might not even be ready to let go of illustrating for this wonderful story.

As a child I loved drawing! However I had been so distracted with the usual things in life, that I kind of stopped drawing for years.
In 2020 my dear friend inspired me to participate in a drawing challenge Inktober on Instagram. I never expected this simple promptlist I made would be such a success!
People I had never met would even participate with me! It was a start of a lovely community in a place where I would the least expect it! Plus rediscovering my childhood dream: drawing!
The challenge was simple: 15 small themed drawings within October. Eventually I made the drawings into little poststamp shaped stickers!

When Mizu decides to find the mythical Magenta Mountain, she must put all her fears aside. The only certain thing is that there are many secrets and dangers on the long road ahead. But then she receives support from an invisible guardian.
Inspired by my favorite band: King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.

I had so much fun illustrating several children’s stories in collaboration with Zuid Creatives for Essent.
The bedtime stories are Dutch folklore Sinterklaas stories. It was a useful challenge to illustrate different actions and emotions, in this modern twist theme.

Finally the uncatchable forest spirit. Is it a rabbit? Is it an owl? I have been obsessed with this magical Blupee. Perhaps it's beauty is to leave it wonder the forest free. Whatever you do, don't get greedy, there are far more honourable ways to get a few rupees. Sincerely friend of Blupees.

This illustration was inspired by a picture on social media of a boy and a frog outside, just sitting. The frog looked a bit overwhelmed to me, perhaps as if it needed some zen time.
I often feel the need to spend time away from the screens and go outside to sit by the water to return to a more natural state. I tried to capture that relaxing vibe with this fun frog.
